“I spend my time looking and capturing the essence of the world in my collages. What interests me the most about my observations is making sense of relationships between people, places, and things around me. I capture and explore connections and patterns which may not be apparent. Collages are my favorite way of visualizing what I experience because I take disparate subjects and combine them to create a unified composition that’s compelling to the viewer. My collages are surrealist in nature and spur emotion in a contemplative yet powerful way. My life is enriched when I create. I bring ideas to life that encourage the viewer to pause and feel.”

I'm a dexterous designer, artist by calling, and devout for detail. My first encounter with art was when I was little. With my small hands dipped in paint, I splashed to life my first piece of artwork. There was a feeling of joy that swelled through me as the color splattered on my paper danced vivid images through my mind. I was recognized for my creativity in school, and I envisioned my future full of paint, color, and lots of paper. Years later, I found myself in contemplation of becoming an artist. I took art classes in high school. The defining moment came during my junior year when I attended the California Institute of the Arts through a summer program. The exposure to a community of artists was an enlightening experience, and I found myself immersed in this creative environment. In 2009 I attended the Academy of Art University to pursue a graphic design degree. Since then I've been using concepts I learned as an artist to help with my graphic design. My skills as an artist and illustrator give me a competitive edge. For many years I’ve been a freelance graphic designer, but in 2016 I suffered my first mental health crisis. I lost my career, financial, and health stability. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, and I felt like my life ended there. For several years I’ve battled these diseases in psychiatric wards and intensive outpatient programs. In 2021 I was mentally well enough to start rebuilding my career as a designer. Throughout this time my business as an artist and designer have been a salve on my wounds. They’ve allowed me to feel the world around me, and not breakdown. I practice art when I finish my day working on designs for my clients. Art and design are my daily companions. By continuing forward using art and design to provide professional services for my community, I fulfill my life and enrich the lives of others around me.
