"In my work, I aim to create environments of tension in otherworldly spaces that give a sense of mystery, contemplation, and sometimes loneliness, mixed with frenetic energy and controlled chaotic moments. I want the imagery to feel somewhat surreal and unrooted, unfamiliar, exploratory, but to give the sense that the viewer is where they should be. There is also a sense of spirituality or ritualism that I find to be an enduring fascination with our civilizations. They are spaces that question where you are and what you are doing here in the way that a work of science fiction asks the same thing. I find inspiration in the imagery and set designs of sci fi movies and television shows, and the implications of moral/human evolutions and how we address this and envision it in the stories we tell in the present."
