"I am always looking to the ground to see what is being left by nature. I enjoy the annual cycles of growth and decay and am inspired by these processes. Instinctively, I have used the same skills learned while taking care of my family; gathering and preserving, then weaving these materials into my artwork. I preserve the materials, but they are not permanent and slowly they begin to lose their color and structure. I am fascinated by our connection to creation’s cyclical nature as well as a promise of our eventual return to it. These artworks often take the form of pieces of clothing that have been created or encrusted with organic materials, gleaned from my surroundings."

Sara Lynne Lindsay

Sara Lynne Lindsay was born in San Jose, California in 1977 and currently calls Atlanta, Georgia home. She has participated in multiple solo and group exhibitions in the United States, as well as exhibiting in Italy. After many years of art making, she earned her MFA from Brigham Young University in 2022. Sara won best of show for the Statewide Annual UT ’21 exhibition, won two awards for the Spring Salon exhibition at the Springville Museum of Art, and has exhibited her work at the Kimball Art Museum, Granary Arts Center, Bountiful Davis Art Center, and with Art in Odd Places. Recently she finished a residency in New York City at The Center 2023 | INTERSECTIONS, Center for Latter-Day Saints Arts, and was just named as an Eliza Moore Fellow, Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence, Oak Springs Garden Foundation, in Upperville, Virginia. Sara is the mother of six children and defines herself through the labor of upbringing, which has been the center of her life for many years. Her art making process focuses on motherhood, family history, and her relationship to the natural environment.
