Efrat Baler-Moses

An Israeli-born, New York-based multidisciplinary artist, I hold a BFA in Sculpture and Painting from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. At Bezalel, I received the Helena Rubinstein - American-Israeli Culture Foundation grant and was chosen by Philip Lieder, the curator, critic, and founding editor of ARTFORUM, as one of the ten most promising artists of the 80s in a publication commemorating the inauguration of Bezalel's new campus. In 1993, holding dual citizenship in the United States and Israel, I moved to New York to expand my artistic practice. Over the years, I've established myself as an educator, lecturer, and artist. I've lectured on Israeli art history and my own artworks through lectures at universities, institutions like the Scholar in Residence Series at the San Francisco Library and as a guest lecturer elsewhere. Alongside my artistic pursuits, I've held diverse positions, including working at the Tate Americas Foundation (American Patrons of Tate), and instructing art privately as well as in various schools, community centers, and institutions in New York City, Brooklyn, and Jerusalem. Throughout my career, I have had over 50 group shows and 5 solo exhibitions in the United States, Israel, and Germany, and my artworks are held in private collections. Currently, I devote myself full-time to my artistic practice.
