βIn my most recent work, the bathtub serves as a place where I can explore my relationship with vulnerability and the tension between feeling secure and feeling exposed. The bath is also a place where one can feel nurtured, cared for, and even healed, and the pandemic and required isolation have given my work new significance. I also enjoy the control of choosing to let people into these intimate settings. The softness of the human body is crucial to my paintings, as is nudity. I aim to show that women and their bodies are not singularly sexual. My work also embraces the visual language and bright color palette of graphic novels and vintage commercial illustration.β
