For more than 30 years, she had a graphic design business in addition to her art practice. She is currently working full-time as an artist. Along with several group shows in 2021, she will be having a one-person exhibition at Western Illinois University Gallery in September.
Zallman is the recipient of numerous grants, including four Illinois Arts Council grants and an Individual Artist Program Grant, from Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) in 2019 for her project “Our Plastic Trash.” She has had several artist residencies including ones at the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Ragdale and Artscape Gibralter Point—Toronto Island.
She has catalogs published by the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art for the 4-person show “Sedimented,” and by the Illinois State Museum for the traveling exhibition, “Fragile Relations, Art + Nature + Environment.”
