I was born and raised in Alabama and moved to Nashville, TN. at the age of nineteen to attend Watkins College of Art, Design & Film where I received a BA in Fine Art. For the last thirteen years I have worked for several studios (as well as my own) producing murals, logos, sculptures, and customized works of art for businesses and homes nationwide. I have fabricated rooms for The Escape Game in several locations around the country, worked at The Art Conservation Center in Chicago and now reside in Austin TX, working as a scenic artist for a production company, all while freelancing and making art for art's sake.
Some of the themes in my work explore the identities of the child self, fragments of nostalgia, homoeroticism and my Southern Baptist upbringing. I weave images and symbols collected from travels, lovers and everyday surroundings with scenes from my past as well as other mystical elements that occur while creating these landscapes and portals for my mischievous characters, all while trying to leave enough anonymity for the viewer to form their own experience and narrative.
