Born in Urbana, Illinois, and based in Santa Cruz, California, Buckius is an artist, educator, and engineer, currently a Lecturer in Digital Media Arts at San José State University. Her work supports DEI in STEM by illuminating the ingenuity of diverse groups of people while pointing to biases in STEM, and argues for CARE in today's technology landscape.
