About the artist

John Chang

American

I am a Southern California–based artist whose work explores memory, migration, culture, history, and identity through layered abstraction and poetic fragments. Drawing from my East/West heritage, I create visual flashbacks of displacement and presence. My work has been exhibited nationally and is held in major public and private collections, including the San Diego International Airport, the San Diego Civic Art Collection, the Star Hotel in Sydney, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, the Regis Hotel in New York, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
