Grace Papineau-Couture is a queer non-binary artist, living and working in Edmonton/Amiskwacîwâskahikan, Alberta, Canada. They work with print and video mediums, both analog and digital. Their work focuses on issues of humour, intimacy and identity. In their practice they often embrace their learning diabilities (dyscalculia, which affects how they perceive physical space, and ADHD) to help create absurd, dreamlike landscapes where time seems to exist in all directions and drawn or printed objects look half real, half remembered. They have a Diploma of Fine Art from Macewan University (2019) are they are currently working towards a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Alberta. They have partcipated in various local music and visual arts shows and community initiatives since 2016. They have also partcipated in professional development programs, including a recent mentorship program in 2020.
