Growing up in Asheville, NC, Danielle Hughes was constantly surrounded by art, craft, and nature. Her father, an architect, and her mother, a nature lover and crafter, encouraged her artistic endeavors. She moved to Savannah, Georgia, to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she graduated in 1995 with a BFA in Metals and Jewelry. Her passion for metal brought her to eyewear design and lighting, as well as jewelry. Her work has been featured in many galleries across the country, as well as internationally. She currently lives back in her hometown of Asheville, NC, working as a jeweler and metals artist.
