Claire Maske is an artist and filmmaker born in Silver Spring, MD and currently based in Boston. They create experimental and animated documentaries, often combining documentary audio with poetic and interpretive visuals. She received a BA in Documentary Studies with a minor in Studio Art from Skidmore College and an MFA in Film and Media Art at Emerson College. She was a 2021 Student Fellow at the MDOCS Storyteller’s Institute. Their work has screened at major festivals including DOC NYC, Hot Springs International Documentary Festival, and Brooklyn Film Festival. She was awarded the Periclean Honors Award at Skidmore College and the Audience Award for Emerging Filmmaker at Mimesis Documentary Festival.
