Tennessee born artist Ashley DuRard now resides in North Carolina. She works with a wide range of mediums and methods both in 2D and 3D work. At first finding her love of painting and mixed media through her past teachers, Ashley looks to inspire the next generation of artists by becoming a teacher herself. Her work is inspired by personal experiences as a woman in a conservitive religious upbringing. While most of her past work has been brightly colored, loose acrylic paintings or pastel drawings, her work is now evolving into the sculptural realm as she works with ceramics and adds three dimensions to her paintings. Through the years, Ashley’s work has been shown locally, regionally and nationally. She is currently working towards her BFA and will pursue an MFA with the goal of teaching in the future.
