Anthony Contini was born in Northeast Ohio in 1990. He graduated in Fine Art from the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. After completing his studies in 2013, he networked with other artists at Mr. McGillicutty Art Studios. In 2017, after finding an SX-70 Polaroid, Contini was drawn to the allure and magic of the instant camera.
In recent work, he has been using a gesso relief process in his mixed-media pieces, pulling images from 80s & 90s American Pulp culture to express emotion and stories through his art. Contini combines different types of media such as oil, acrylic, and auto spray paints with charcoal, chalk, ink magazines, and circuit boards.
