"I’ve had ever-increasing thoughts on mortality, becoming more and more self-aware about living and dying and avoiding things that lead to dying. I’ve become my own muse for exploring human frailty and decay, which works out well since the lines and sag of my face bear a fair amount of decay. My interactions with tools in these works are metaphors for my/our vulnerability to outside forces, obstacles to negotiate, threats to health, inconveniences to live with.”
