Sold Paintings from Corrinne Wolcoski

This painting was inspired by the many trips I have taken between Vancouver and
Vancouver Island (Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo). Floating right past the entrance to
Howe Sound is always rewarding - each time the light is different and it never looks
the same. When the clouds start lifting and cause a break in the weather there is
this beautiful luminous quality on the water. Just simply mesmerizing!
Painting this landscape for your space, I had a plan to make the sky the main focal
point and I chose a still ocean to reflect the drama in the clouds. This is my
visualization of that calmness I feel out there on the water. Immersed in the
landscape with nothing but serenity / hard to describe but that’s how I paint. When I
get that same feeling looking at the painting in my studio that I do when I am on the
ocean, then I know I am done.
