This lithograph, Hold me tightly lest I fall, was created to coincide with the launch of Claire Morgan's large-scale commission, Hold me tightly lest I fall, at Landesgalerie Niederösterreich / The State Gallery of Lower Austria in 2024.
It grew out of several months of experimentation: explorations of simultaneous communion and isolation, translucency and form, lightness and dark, the ethereal and the violently physical. After drawing directly onto the stones, Claire worked with Master Printer Lee Turner of Hole Editions, experimenting with tone and colour, to translate those marks into the final image you see.
