LOOKING SKYWARD is a series of small paintings around the theme: "When life gets you down, look up."
The series explores the idea of shifting perspective – literally and figuratively. Each painting looks upwards, capturing an expanse of sky with a sliver of a building in view, keeping the viewer grounded on earth.
No matter what is happening around us, one can take a beat to look up. Take a breath, appreciate the colorful sky or unexpected light brightening a rooftop. Interrupt the constant barrage that is everyday modern life. This may be the catalyst to find purpose, meaning or acceptance in the face of challenges, uncertainty, differences and loss.
These paintings offer a moment of stillness and hope, a reminder to take time daily to look up and breathe in.
