I have worked with various media throughout the years, in particular oil. In recent years, I have experimented with oils, pastels and watercolors. My motivation is to capture desiring/desired figures in movement, with their imprecision, hesitation as well as fortuitous contact, dialogue and blind/bodily exchanges, resulting often in inverted or distorted mirrorings as well as discreet palimpsests. Thus, I hope to bring up a rich register of life expressions by means of color, form, and gesture.

Verónica Grossi was born in Mexico City. She studied art in Stamford, Connecticut with American artist Dorothy Soltanoff and in Guadalajara, Mexico with Cuban artist José Fors. She also attended art classes at the University of Guadalajara and worked for the Department of Beaux Arts of the state of Jalisco. She begun oil painting at age eighteen. Her focus in her art is on color and abstract composition. She is also a writer.
