Artist Statement
My artwork is simply a reflection of the culture that I grew up in and the cultures that I am connected to through the African diaspora. A lot of my artwork is influenced by African-American music and music videos I love and I combine that imagery with the aesthetics of an African style painting.
Artist Bio
I’m from Winston Salem, North Carolina. I lived there most of my life and then I moved to Wilmington for 5 years. Now I am in Greensboro. I’ve always been fascinated with art. I started making stop motion animation videos in middle school and then I educated myself a little bit about 3d animation. I also used to make and edit music videos using a video game called the Sims. When I went to college is when I really discovered that I was good at drawing and so now I make digital drawings. One of my aspirations is to produce a family friendly comedic black cartoon one day.
