An Original Hitching Ring:
During the last half of the 19th century, commercial endeavors developed along Parowan's main street. Into this community rode the freighters, commanding huge freight wagons pulled by draft animals, freighting their wares to our needful pioneer community. The freighters secured their animals to these hitching rings as they off-loaded their goods. This process lasted into the early 20th century. Originally, there were several rings along this street.
