About the Image
From August to November 2014 the imagination of the British public was captured by an art installation at the Tower of London. Land of Blood Swept Tears was created to mark the 100 year centenary of the start of World War 1. Even on the rainy day when I went to see it there was a sense of awe and respect in the air, the queues were long and patient.
This moment seemed to sum up the emotion. A perfectly timed raised umbrella.
