The busy Millennium Bridge is always full of people crossing from St Pauls to the Tate Modern. As with tourists everywhere, they are a mixed bunch of people from various places. I wonder what stories they would tell? The lady in the gold outfit, the Girl with the bike or the man with the bag?
During the creation I experimented with colour in the sky. The bright purple I used felt a bit too much for what was really quite subtle and muted colour piece, so I toned it down a bit.
Creation
The picture is painted on watercolour paper. She draws the lines with masking fluid to a planned arrangement before painting it with a watercolour wash which gets covered with clingfilm. Once this is removed the picture is further developed using acrylic inks which are left to dry before the masking is removed to reveal the final picture.
