Watercolor and color pencil create a storybook-like depiction of a winter scene that may be imagined, but that the viewer can still feel with a gaze at the painting: the nip of the cold, dry air, the white of the snow and barren trees, life present and unbothered in its winter state. All three pieces represent the exploration of life without the human being, of nature untouched, what I imagine when I think of the seasons, and gratitude for those animals that the earth stewards.
