Blue Tansy Tears, 2026

In Blue Tansy Tears, emotion and plant wisdom converge in a deeply personal visual narrative of healing. Streams of tears fall from the figure’s face, echoing the fluid drips of the acrylic underpainting as they descend into blooming blue tansy flowers below. These tears are not simply sorrow—they are release, recognition, and reverence.
The woman portrayed embodies a paradox: feeling both unworthy and profoundly honored. She reflects a moment in my life when I was overcome—crying, wailing alone in my apartment—suddenly aware that I had been entrusted with the intuitive knowledge of aromatherapy as a path toward healing. That realization arrived not gently, but as a flood. The diffused essence of blue tansy became symbolic of that moment: tears of gratitude, awe, and awakening.
Though blue tansy essential oil is known for its vivid blue hue, I chose a purple sky to surround her—an intentional shift to evoke wisdom, spiritual awareness, and intuitive depth. This celestial backdrop represents the unseen forces guiding her toward balance and self-acceptance. It is within this interplay—between earth and ether, plant and person—that transformation unfolds.
This piece is more than an expression of grief or release. It is an invitation. An offering from the plant kingdom to move forward, to trust in the unseen intelligence of nature, and to embrace healing without apology. In this space, I found permission to choose myself—to stand in both vulnerability and strength—and to honor the journey as sacred.
Blue Tansy Tears calls to those who recognize that healing is not linear, but layered—rooted in both the physical and the spiritual.
