Ann Swingler’s work incorporates mixed media collages and photographic encaustic work. Ann’s process begins by creating a small collage box from dried botanicals and layering them between glass. The photographic images are glued to a wooden panel, delicately embellished with color pencil and oil pastels before a final layer of encaustic wax is applied. Swingler studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and later earned her MFA from Columbia University. Over the course of her career, she has exhibited widely in galleries and museums across the United States and internationally, and her work is included in numerous public and private collections.
