We Are Volcanoes explored the female body as a force of eruption, transformation, and generative power. Through fluid figurative paintings, the exhibition drew on themes of fertility, mythology, and lived bodily experience to embrace the body as expansive, explosive, and continually becoming. The exhibition takes its title from Ursula K. Le Guin's words: "We are volcanoes. When we women offer our experience as our truth, as human truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains."
