This woman seems to be part animal or some kind of mythical hybrid or exaggeration via the set of breasts. She dangles a string-of-pearls like strand of baubles--repeatedly referring to connotations of berries and/or blood here. “Amenorrhea” is the stopping of the menstrual cycle, a cause of infertility, something I have battled personally. It’s not necessary to know that , though, to grasp this piece. I think it is more about the angst, passion, pain, of womanhood and motherhood; both female anger and excitement. The image transfer near the bottom of the painting is taken from a medieval illustration of a fetus in a womb, and brings a sense of acrobatics to the space.
