This is just one of the many views to be seen from overlooks at Petit Jean State Park, Arkansas.
I always carry my camera on trips farther than the city limits and often within as well. I have been to Petit Jean State Park several times, but not since I focused more effort on developing my photography skill. I wanted to try for different perspectives than I usually get, especially without the benefit of Ozark fall colors I had expected. One overlook there has a small stone structure, and I used it to my advantage to frame the view, giving it dimension and interest both in foreground and background.
The landscapes I obtained that day are the first time I tried them in black and white, in honor of the amazing photographer Ansel Adams.
