My work has a minimalist style that reflects both the natural environment and a love of abstraction. Asian brush painting, Encaustic, and Fresco combine .
MessageI'm thrilled to introduce my latest artwork, "Ocean Blue," an exploration of texture and color inspired by the serene beauty of Narragansett Bay and the Watch Hill landscape. This piece measures [insert size here] and showcases a mesmerizing composition crafted with fresco substrate, encaustic wax, and pigments.
"Watch Hill Texturescape" is a horizontal composition that invites viewers to immerse themselves in a vibrant, textured world. The upper portion of the artwork is dominated by a swath of dynamic blue, reminiscent of the sky or ocean, with subtle variations in shade and texture that capture the ever-changing nature of water and air. As your eyes travel downward, the middle section transitions into a warm, earthy terrain. This part of the piece features rough, tactile qualities, with a wavy green line that adds a sense of movement and small scattered elements that create depth and complexity.
The lower portion of the artwork blends seamlessly into a rough, grayish-white band. This area evokes the appearance of weathered stone or concrete, providing a stark yet intriguing contrast to the calm blues above and the warm earthiness in the center. The interplay between these contrasting elements creates a dynamic visual experience that draws the viewer in and invites them to explore the intricate details of the piece.
"Watch Hill Texturescape" was inspired by the natural beauty of Narragansett Bay and the Watch Hill area. The unique textures and colors found in this landscape, from the sandy terrains to the vibrant waters, served as a muse for this artwork. The process of creating this piece was particularly special, as I incorporated sand and various textural elements to bring a tactile dimension to the vibrant blue and earthy tones.
I hope "Watch Hill Texturescape" resonates with you as much as it does with me. It's a piece that celebrates the captivating contrasts and harmonious beauty of one of my favorite places, inviting you to experience the textures and colors of this unique landscape.
