ARTISTS:
Jean Gumpper describes the woodcut as a way to express her experiences in nature. The carving of the woodblock and the layering of the ink she likens to natural processes such as the layering of leaves, water, and trees reflected through light.
Stephen Dinsmore’s paintings can be found in public and private collections both nationally and internationally. Dinsmore, a Nebraska-born artist, presents paintings that testify to the vitality of representational art as a means of communicating visual poetry. His paintings may border on the abstract being a synthesis from several sources; in other instances they may convey a more specific sense of place and time.
Debra Salopek’s current work depicts the surroundings of her new home in the Great Plains. Her oil paintings are about horizon and light. Debra Salopek exhibits her work in galleries and museums nationally. She has been represented by William Havu Gallery since 2007.
Betsy Margolius’s finds inspiration for her oil paintings in the unique curved line of a rose, the elegance of a tree branch, and the simple organic shape of a stone has been shown at galleries across the country and is included in many corporate and private collections.
