Breathing Rain - Libby Wakefield

Libby Wakefield is a prize-winning landscape painter and teacher living and working on the Gundungurra lands of New South Wales.

Central to Libby’s practice is a focus on the ways she can depict local wetlands through the lens of Romanticism, exploring themes of beauty and the sublime: “In my work I want to expand on this concept and apply that framework with a new curiosity, looking specifically at the wetlands within my local environment, places that I know well and are a part of my daily practice but are in many ways unknown and at times unseen.”
