Artist statement

Shadows, depth & light are all essential to my artworks. They drive my composition and inspire the creation of the finished piece. In this particular artwork, I was drawn to the distinct late afternoon light and enveloping mist that danced across the texture of the rocks, that surround this beautiful cove in the South West of Western Australia. Mood and Light, the push and pull of life, this is what inspires my visual poetic journey for this artwork, these emotions that we all have are in our everyday comments, they influence us, they confront us but also endear us to have a voice, a voice out of the shadows.
