Circling Around, Flickering Flame

"My interests cover a wide spectrum, from the profound wisdom of Zen philosophy to the captivating allure of Eastern aesthetics and the world of Abstract Colour Field artists. However, amidst this diversity of inspiration, the hero's journey truly captivates my imagination. This universal narrative guides my artistic endeavours, inspired by Joseph Campbell’s book 'The Hero with a Thousand Faces'. I aim to distil its essence into simple yet profound shapes, akin to mandalas for introspection.

At the core of my art is the circle, symbolising the complexities of the human psyche and the cyclical nature of existence. It embodies life's ceaseless movement and vibrational energy. Conversely, the square represents stability amid life's fluidity, providing structure and balance to our journeys and beliefs.

Colour is also pivotal, it breathes life into the canvas. Immersing the viewer in the field's expanse, I meticulously explore perfect colour frequencies. Harmonious hues orchestrate a resonant symphony with the viewer's soul, transcending visual stimuli to evoke emotion and thought. This invites viewers to synchronise with the painting's palette, transforming them from observers into active participants in a symbiotic relationship."
