By the Creek

Encountering a creek while in a natural bush environment counts as life's great pleasures for me , and living in the Southern highlands provides ample opportunity to explore many waterways. The ridges of Morton national Park - land of the Gundungurra people- provided the inspiration for this work, painted from memory. It is well documented in the contemporary Psychological literature that being immersed in nature for even a small portion of time has significant measurable benefits to the mental health for all people. I hope this small study reminds the viewer of the calming influence on the mind and the engaging colours of nature that may be experienced on a small wander through a natural environment.
