Everyday we get to choose if we want to live with hope or despair. Many times things may seem to go wrong, often leaving us feeling in despair. Perhaps someone did you wrong or said something hurtful. But, we always have the choice to hold onto it or to let it go. We can be bitter over a situation that didn’t go our way, or, we can hold onto the hope of a better outcome.
So often things happen that we can not understand why, but also so often, in the end, they were actually something meant to propel us forwards towards something better, even when we can not see that right away. It is the challenges in life we face that can help build us into better beings, but only if we are willing to do so.
Sometimes we may feel at a lost on how to move forwards, but if we are willing to ask and listen to our ancestors, we can gain the strength needed to deal with whatever challenge we may be facing. The Uwohali (eagle) can help deliver our messages and questions, giving us hope in receiving resolutions and answers for what we are seeking. And, like the Uwohali, we can choose to soar high by being kind to others and striving the be the best person we can. No matter how tough things may get, there is always something to hope for. Even if it’s only the smallest sliver of hope, never give up. Hold on to it and help it grow. Gain strength from the ancestors, and always have the hope you can reach all your goals and dreams.
