Richard Crozier’s paintings do not rely on photographs or preliminary sketches but are painted directly from life. Some of his work, particularly his landscapes, were painted by Crozier in his parked car. His landscapes are painted from various locations including Charlottesville, Crozet, Waynesboro and the surrounding counties. This painting was by the artist overlooking the river towards Thomas Jefferson's Monticello Plantation.
