In memory of residents William “Bill” Hazelgrove, Director of the Virginia Home for Boys from 1961-1978, later renamed the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, and his wife, Jackie Hazelgrove. Together, in 1974, they founded the campus John G. Wood School which operates today as a specialized K-12 campus school. Through the Bill and Jackie Hazelgrove Scholarship Program, many young campus graduates have received assistance with college and vocational degrees.
