In memory of residents William “Bill” Hazelgrove, Director of the Virginia Home for Boys from 1961-1978, later renamed the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, and his wife, Jackie Hazelgrove. Together, in 1974, they founded the campus John G. Wood School which operates today as a specialized K-12 campus school. Through the Bill and Jackie Hazelgrove Scholarship Program, many young campus graduates have received assistance with college and vocational degrees. They were loved and respected by the children who called them “Mom and Pop.” Gift of Dr. and Mrs. Robert B. Scott, Sr.
