Gene Davis, a member of the Washington Color School movement, was influenced by the works of Paul Klee and the Abstract Expressionists. Davis worked in a variety of media and styles but he is best known for his acrylic paintings of colorful vertical stripes which create a sense of visual rhythm using repetition of colors.
