For the artwork Trapped/Nervous, two participants used birds to symbolize their anxiety. One described a small bird trapped in a confined space, flying just past an open window—reflecting their struggle with anxiety, IBS, and food-related distress. The other participant placed the bird in their chest, embodying the restless, physical sensation of anxiety. These shared metaphors highlight the deep connection between mental and physical health. Through layered materials like tissue paper, paint, gold leaf, and thread, I aim to capture the fragility and persistence of these emotions.
