Baby Seal
The solace of gazing into the big, beautiful, trusting eyes of a baby seal can stir deep emotions within us. There's an innocence in its gaze, a purity that reflects a world untouched by fear or malice. The soft contours of its face, paired with those wide eyes, evoke a sense of vulnerability that reminds us of the beauty in nature's simplicity.
In this piece I used a scoring technique to create the soft, delicate white fur of the baby seal, setting it against a backdrop of the blue water where it thrives. My goal was to convey a sense of love and innocence, as if those gentle eyes are looking back at you, searching for connection and trust. The serenity in this moment speaks to a bond that transcends species, a reminder of the tenderness and care we owe the natural world.
