Abstract artists typically stressed the creative processes that went into their works over their finished product. Here is an study from Maitin, which shows part of his creative process for this work. Artists’ studies provide opportunities to learn about your idea - figuring out how best to lay out your composition, practicing application techniques, and resolving other issues.

Aside from benefitting the artist, artists’ studies also provide inspiration for other artists. It reminds aspiring artists of the effort and time that goes into creating each work of art.
