The Pennsylvania Opera Company, created in 1963, operated out of Chester, PA. Though it had smaller productions than other nearby institutions, especially in its early years, its efforts to present innovative performances attracted new and up-and-coming performers and crew members.
Maitin created this poster for the company’s production of La Fanciulla del West (“The Girl of the Golden West”) as part of a portfolio by local artists in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary.
