Robert McGovern is a noted painter, printmaker, and sculptor is from Narberth, PA, and is an artist,
writer, and professtor emeritus of the University of the Arts. McGovern's works and designs, including wood,
bronze and lead reliefs, carved oak and basswood murals, statues, altar furniture, lecterns, processional
crosses, entranceways, window and altarpieces, are in places of worship throught the Phila. area and across
the nation. McGovern's lfe as an artst took shape under two vocational art teachers at West Phila. High
School and a crippling bout with polio at age 16. Learned woodcut printing from Bolton Morris, who is
regarded as dean of liturgical artists. ~ Robert McGovern died on April 13,2011,
