  • Artist: Paul F. Keene, Jr. (American, 1920-2009)

Born in 1920, Philadelphia-based artist and teacher Keene's works of Abstract Realism explore the experiences of Black communities in Philadelphia. His work is characterized by its vibrant colors and symbolic imagery. He has also received awards from institutions such as the PMA and the Afro-American Historical and Cultural Museum. Keene also taught art classes at Bucks County Community College. Keene died in Warrington PA in 2009, aged 89.
