  • Artist: Mildred Dillon (1907-1992)

Mildred Dillon was born and lived in Philadelphia, PA. From 1925-28, she studied at the Philadelphia College of Art. Then from 1928-29, she studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. And finally, from 1929-31, she studied with the Barnes Foundation. Most exhibitions of her work were in the Philadelphia area. She was an active member in the art community and participated in many organizations. For over ten years, she acted as Vice President of the American Color Print Society. She was also a member of the board for the Philadelphia Art Alliance. During her lifetime, she was awarded the Harris Morten Prize in 1953, the George Lear Memorial Prize in 1958, and the Klein Prize in 1967. Dillon passed away in 1992 at the age of 85.
