  • Artist: Henri-Bernard Goetz (1909-1989)

Henri-Bernard Goetz was an American-born French painter. He originally attended MIT with plans to become an electrical engineer before transferring to Harvard and Cambridge with hopes to work as a curator. From there, he realized he wanted to become an artist and attended New York's Grand Central School of Art. In 1930, he moved to Paris where he attended the Academie Colarossi, the Academie Julian, and the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere where he would later teach. He is known for his radio shows with other famous artists such as Pablo Picasso and the invention of carborundom process for printmaking.
