Artist: Emlen Etting (American, 1905-1993)
Emlen Etting was born in 1905 to a wealthy family in the Philadelphia area. After he graduated from Harvard, he moved to Paris to study painting. He would return to the United States to marry his wife, Gloria. His life was spent hopping back and forth between continents as he would return to Europe during World War II. Many of his works are from that time, a number of them depicting sailors in uniform. He dabbled in many mediums, including film.
