Vivien Abrams Collens is a New York artist focusing on sculpture and public art since 2017 after years of creating paintings and painting installations.
MessageThis series is an homage to Friedrich Froebel, who was the founder of the modern kindergarten in 1838. He gave children basic geometric forms (sphere, cube, cylinder, pyramid) to play with, believing it would increase their ability to think abstractly. Upon learning that Frank Lloyd Wright and Buckminster Fuller played with these as children , I decided Froebel was actually the father of modern architecture. I built an assymetric module made of 6 beams and a cube and used it as a module to build architectural structures. However in the spirit of child's play,
