Come Together (below center) is a 17' high site specific sculpture that was displayed on the lawn on the left of the historic Salem Courthouse. The sculpture celebrated the transformation from a courthouse and jail to a vibrant community center with programming and gatherings that attract many visitors.
The lower portion of the sculpture is an assemblage of green welded steel grids. They appear to constrain an energetic abstract linear sculpture , much as the jail constrained convicts who wanted their freedom. This portion of the sculpture contrasts with the upper curved forms exploding with energy, like fireworks, from the top of the sculpture, gracefully curving toward the ground.
The work was inspired by the refrain of Beatles' song of the same name. "we just got to be free.... Come Together,, "
